Architect
Born in Odessa on 14 January 1866; died in Hong Kong on 29 March 1954. Had daughter Vera (Wiera) Kempner, born in 1892.
Radbill moved to China with his family in 1906. He was active in Harbin, and his works were publicized in the Russian-language magazine Architecture and Life (1921–1922). Among his Harbin projects are Japanese Stock Society Building (1921), A. Chernyavsky monument, Gigant movie theatre (1926), and other public and residential buildings. In 1928, Radbill created a project of an oil storage for the Soviet company Neftesindikat, but the realization was postponed [source].
In April 1938, he supervised the reconstruction and the addition of a verandah to the Russian Club, at 1053 Avenue Foch. Although his output in Shanghai is yet unknown, he was called "a prominent architect." (NCH, 24 Apr 1938)
A. B. Radbill died in Hong Kong en route to Switzerland, in 1954.
